Cam's Cause

Into battle they do fly

Across the stormy seas and sky

Silencing sounds of battling guns

Through the fire our sons do run

Travelling across a treacherous land

Not all will fall, not all will stand

The sounds of fallen soldiers roar

But those, indeed, are the tales of war

 

A final stand, but he yet fell

He knew his options all too well

He was a leader; fearless and brave

To save all others, his life, he gave

Courageous, gallant and noble was he

And through his actions we truly can see

As a Son, a Brother, and as a Friend too

As The Last Commando; we will remember you

 

His spirit remains, though He is gone

Through us all, his kindness carries on

A "fearless warrior", a "gentle man"

A soldier, a hero, and nothing less than

So day after day, he'll stay by our side

His courage and compassion being our guide

Different worlds, we may live, but not far apart

His lessons and essence live on in our hearts

 

For his friends, fellow soldiers, He did die

And those, back at home, for Him, will cry

But know now this, his battle's done

Remember him as brave and young

Escaping to a better land

He may fall but his name will stand

In our lives His story is shared
